Last weekend five of us (arvi, ashu, basu, rohith n me ) had been to Sita nadi kayaking near Hebri. Sita Nadi Camp (Someshwara wild life sanctuary) is a 30min bus ride away from Udupi, 4km after the town of Hebri. People from adreno take care of arranging all activities here.

First day morning went for trekking to Koodala thirtha falls .It is nearly 21km from Hebri. After travelling 16km in jeep we reached the starting point of our trek. From this point onwards we started our trekking. After first 2km we found ourselves amidst thick jungle. After successfully trekking around 6k in total, we were in front of the most beautiful waterfalls I had ever been. This place is enclosed with rocks on the three sides and a sectoral opening to enjoy the blue sky lying in the chilled water. We didn't dare to get beneath the falls as it was falling from a height of 100-150 ft and it would have been really tough to stand below it (esp when person dont know how to swim :) ). After spending 2 hours of time in the water we trekked back to the camp.

Next day morning headed to a place near siddapur for kayaking in river varahi. We got in to the kayaking gear(helmet, swim wear and life jacket). Initially we were asked to understand what was happening with our kayak. Then all the five groups started towards the first of the 4 rapids. We were all exited as it was the first one we were going to see. We crossed the first three with lot of enthusiasm and were asked to park our kayakss after passing theese rapids. After paddling for 2 hours and some swimming classes (when Ashwin dared crossing the river through the strong currents swimming ) we stopped for lunch. After the delicious lunch we continued with our paddling enjoying each of the rapids. After crossing the 4th and the biggest rapid, we had reached the culmanating point. we got out of the water and had a few shots with the team.

Evening we headed to Agumbe. For those who have watched the famous rendition of R.K. Narayan’s Malgudi Days on T.V. this place will not look unfamiliar. Agumbe is a small village on the state highway, known for its sunset and beautiful treks it has to offer.

This place receives the highest rainfall in the state. After that we took the bus back to Bangalore and next day onwards the usual mechanical life started.

Some of the snaps here:)
